Sustainable Prefab Huts By Muji



During Tokyo Design Week 2015, famous minimalist brand MUJI launched a three small prefab sustainable MUJI huts designed by Naoto Fukasawa, Jasper Morrison, and Konstantin Grcic. These tiny homes are made from cork, aluminum, and wood. All huts blend traditional Japanese elements with contemporary minimal styles.

Fukasawa’s hut of wood reflects a traditional Japanese log cabin with floor-to-ceiling glazed sliding doors. Inside there is also a large Japanese bath and a wood-burning stove:

Morrison’s Hut made from cork has a tiny shower instead of a large bath, assuming that the residents will use the hot spring. Tatami mats were applied on the floor and sound-absorbing panels on the exterior:

And last but not least – Konstantin Grcic’s Hut of Aluminum. Sliding doors opens a complete wooden interior with the bedroom on the upper loft:
