A Mountain-Inspired Bathroom Transformation by Britt White Studio
This late 80’s bathroom had seen better days. The client craved a total renovation, seeking a larger shower, easier upkeep, and a touch of excitement. An ardent alpine explorer, he aimed to create a spacious, invigorating, well-lit bathroom with ample ventilation. The result? A remarkable transformation into an artistic bathroom inspired by mountain landscapes.
Reimagining Space

The previous bathroom held separate rooms with distinct doors, resulting in an inefficient, disconnected layout. The elongated toilet and sunken shower felt outdated. A disjointed feel persisted with the vanity and mirror on separate walls. The client, tired of scrubbing grout lines, longed for a rejuvenating bath experience.

The renovation drew from the client’s adventures in mountains and overseas. Shades of blue, reminiscent of the sky, adorned easy-to-maintain wall tiles, paired with brushed brass fittings, warm wooden vanity, and gray terrazzo-style floor tiles. White elements—ceiling paint, shower tiles, sconces, and vanity top—amplified light, creating an uplifting ambiance.
Functional Transformation

Before
Removing the separating wall and repositioning the door added precious space, enabling a more functional flow. Rearranged plumbing, including the vanity and bath, enhanced the sense of openness. A larger shower and bath were integrated, while feature tiles elevated the mood, complementing the room’s new, spacious window.
Delighted Client
