Art-filled Home in Sao Paulo
Today’s post is definitely for those, who are fond of everything peculiar, colorful, and a bit whimsy. The house in this post is a 600m2 space, which was designed by Galeazzo Design Agency for a family with the aim of being a place of a social meeting among a collection of art and design.
The house is located in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The first thing that caught my eye in this fantastic interior was the dining space with that pop of bright orange, which is conveyed through dining chair upholstery and the same color palette artwork hanged on the wall. The whole interior though is undeniably artsy; you can see different kinds of artwork in almost every corner – lots of it hang on the walls, some are freestanding sculptural art pieces, others are beautifully displayed on the shelves or other kinds of furniture. The Agency that planned this beautiful space chose to use natural and sustainable materials like demolition wood for the floors and raw marble.
The social area was divided into sectors: Living, Cellar, Dining room, Gourmet Kitchen, and Balcony. For decoration, vintage furniture was mixed with top-notch European design furniture. In all rooms there are Tibetan rugs made of wool and silk – now that’s a luxury not all of us can afford, but you can’t deny that they’re also a piece of art with practical use.
The house was conceived with big windows and doors that allow a lot of daylight to illuminate and become the significant supporting element of the spaces. The gourmet kitchen is the big venue where all areas are joined together, and it becomes the main attraction on the party nights. In the big yard, there’s a pool for the summer days, few palms, and a green-wall filled with foliage that magnifies the effect of an oasis in an urban setting.
