Belk Farmhouse Retreat

Sometimes, when the week is bitter or just plain stressful one can dream about getting away from the city and enjoying nature. A weekend house is a perfect idea. This family retreat, inspired by traditional American barn structures, maintains a rural simplicity while also offering distinctive living spaces. Large windows frame picturesque views to the rolling pastures and ponds that compose the local landscape. The interior has effortless style, yet charismatic decor elements and a relaxing feeling. The whole space is arranged in a mostly neutral color palette: natural and painted white wood, grey kitchen counters, white shelves. However, to liven up space, there’s some fun and colorful art, red chairs, and a few industrial elements – chairs and lighting fixtures. To me, one of the genius ideas is – not single, not double, but triple washbasins, which let everyone get their morning routine done much faster, seeing that at the weekend house you usually get friends or family to come over. The lovely detail, for a retreat home, or a beach house – rope stair railings, which soften up the look. Take a look at this wonderful building in South Carolina and find inspiration or just enjoy it with your morning tea.
