Breathing New Life into a Mid-Century Gem: A Renovation Story
This mid-century marvel, originally designed to embrace its stunning oceanfront location, had the potential for greatness hidden beneath years of wear and tear. While the spacious layout remained a strong foundation, the interior felt dated and the exterior weathered by the elements. Our approach involved a strategic dance between preservation and modernization.
Subtle tweaks were made to the existing floorplan, enhancing its flow and functionality for modern living. Every window and door was meticulously replaced with double-glazed units, maximizing both natural light and thermal insulation. The material palette leaned towards simple, durable finishes, creating a timeless aesthetic that resonated with the home’s mid-century spirit. Custom joinery was meticulously crafted to seamlessly integrate with the existing architectural details, ensuring a cohesive visual narrative throughout the space.
The result? A revitalized interior that celebrates the home’s original character while introducing striking elements to optimize the captivating ocean view. Gone are the days of a tired interior; now, the space exudes a sense of unity and vibrancy, perfectly tailored for modern life.
Here, the homeowners share their experience:
