Jardins Apartment by Tavares Duayer
This unique 1940s apartment located in Jardins, São Paulo, Brazil was redesigned by Tavares Duayer Arquitetura. The project prioritized the restoration and preservation of the original elements in this typical apartment of the 40’s. The windows were retained and restored, the stripped walls reveal the original building system. A flowing open plan internal space avoided compartmentalisation and opened up to reveal the concrete, original brickwork and antique hardwood floor, the main details, that make it feel like an old industrial space. To promote and enhance urban and industrial atmosphere the decoration objects and furniture are a great addition as well. Even though the whole space seems darker than usual, that was the whole intention.
