Standard Studio has designed a shared office space for ‘Buro Koos,’ ‘7 lab’, and ‘Booreiland.’ The location of the office is in the recently opened Salt Building which is at the Houthavens harbor district in Amsterdam. The architects from the Standard Studio got their inspiration from the ‘Koos Ocean Eleven’ theme. The architects describe this theme as dedicated, social, adventurous, creative, and bright.
The total space of this open floor plan office is 560 square meters, and it consists of three main elements. The big windows provide a lot of daylight and beautiful views of the harbor. Standard Studio had to create some smaller spaces in the big open floor area. So they divided the whole office by adding five meeting rooms that not only create space for each tenant but also maintain the open-plan concept.
Architects positioned the work desks along the windows to bring enough daylight for each workplace and to enjoy the outside view. The black desks reflect the character of the industrial building. There is also another space on the opposite side of the entrance for workshops of up to 12 persons.
