Simple But With Contemporary Feeling Family House in Slovakia

The beautiful Family House in Čunovo, Slovakia occurred in Not a paper house diary on the last day of summer. Happy New Years!

The Slovakian architecture firm JRKVC were asked to create simple, small house at a reasonable price.

At first sight the exterior looks like simple, ordinary house. But wait for it…

Almost…

Yes, this house is quite original.  Triple-glazed wall to the north side avoids direct sun and heat.

The icon–shaped house has a small footprint, tiny picturesque windows and a porch. Ground floor is organized by a traditional three–room scheme. There is central “service box” made of plywood – there is a bathroom, toilet, stairs, storage and the kitchen integrated inside.

Natural building materials – including wood, clay and straw – were incorporated into the fabric of the home.
