Lithuanian architecture studio ‘AKETURI ARCHITEKTAI‘ designed a ranch located in Labanoras Regional Park. “The project site is on a strictly reserved area, so it was both a challenge and a chance to experiment with the traditional Eastern Lithuanian countryside architecture,” – said the architects. The main concept was to design a modern summerhouse for a city dweller while maintaining the traditional Lithuanian country house architecture. Therefore, the dark layout reflects the form of a typical old Lithuanian countryside cottage, but inside, has everything that you need for a comfortable living. Despite the fact that the house was designed for a modern man, it still has elements that can only be found in old manors. That includes a giant fireplace and a bread baking oven heated with wood. Architects have also installed lamps hanging from the ceiling, which reflects historical chandeliers. A sauna with huge windows facing the lake is located in the other building.
