This Tiny Shed was Designed as a Workspace for a Writer
WSD Architecture completed a backyard shed workspace for their client, who is an author and illustrator. The shed was built at the back of the client’s property in the London Borough of Hackney. As WSD architects said, “the main concept of this project is a shelter in the city. A tiny hut at the end of the garden where you can retreat and immerse in your work”. The entrance to the shed is through a small covered deck area and a sliding glass door. There’s a small bathroom tucked away in the corner. A skylight above the workplace provides a lot of daylight. The back wall is completely arranged with a custom shelving unit made from OSB. One part of the shelf is actually a small window which is facing the garden. A wood burning stove provides the warmth for the shed.
