Industrial Modern Loft Apartment
Architectural studio OOOOX, based in Prague, always bears in mind rough concrete, wood and other raw details, while also managing to get the most out of them. For this particular apartment the whole decor revolves around cool, glossy and metallic coloured decor elements and the whole palette is muted and grey toned. This wonderful loft in Ostrovsky street is proof, how enthusiastic architects, an incredible style selections and their ability to balance between materials and shapes, can create a modern industrial space with a cold, yet lively mood.
Given the state of the original dwelling and its improper disposal, the architects managed to convince the client to accede a full-scale reconstruction. In the part where the living room and kitchen are situated, the aesthetic was to combine dark concrete, stainless steel and glossy white surfaces while also adding some softness with silvery cushions and vases and bits of warmer gray shades. The whole apartment seems very aesthetically fluid, the details and design in every room is similar, and the colour palette is alike as well. My favourite part, that the designers and the client were not afraid to stick to a dark, moody bathroom design, which makes it feel a lot more glamorous and different than usual bathrooms. I only wonder, if there’s an additional light near the mirror, because I imagine that trying to do make-up there would be a bit of a struggle.
